SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. , CARLTON A v.SARTERTON. The Carlton A team visited Carterton, yesterday afternoon, and com-1 menced a match against the local Thursday team. Carterton went to the wickets first and made 205 runs. Carlton have lost two wickets for 54 runs. The Carlton players state that the ground was not fit to play on, the outfield being a "hay paddock." Unless a better outfield is provided at Carterton it is probable that some of •the Masterton Thursday teams will forfeit their matches with Carterton sooner than play on the present ground.
