EXPLORATION OF AFRICA.

LECTURE BY THE DUKE "OF ABRUZZI. Received January 15, 7.48 a.m. LONDON, January 14. The Duke of Abruzzi, cousin of the King of Italy, lectured before the Royal Geographical Society, describing his exploration of Mount Rawenzori, in Central Africa. King Edward, and the Prince of Wales were present. The former warmly applauded the explorer's courage and coolness. (The Duke is an intrepid explorer, and his researches extend into many lands and the most extreme climates. In 1900 he penetrated nearer the North Pole than had ever been done before; his party reached 86deg 33min N., beating Nansen's previous record).
