! SIR J. F. GARRICK. Received January 15, 7.48 a.m. LONDON, January 14. Sir James Francis Garrick, ex-Agent-General for Queensland, is dead. < „ (Sir James Garrick, who was born in 1836, was admitted a solicitor of Queensland in 1861, called to the Bar at the Middle Temple in 1873, and to the Queensland Bar in the following year. In 1877 he entered politics, and he was successively Secretary for Lands and Attorney-General in the Douglas Ministry, and afterwards |Postmaster-General in Sir Samuel Griffith's Administration. He was Agent-General for Queensland in England' from 1884 to 1888, and again from 1890 to 1895. He was knighted in 1886).
