Received January 14, 8.20 a.m. LONDON, January 13. The inopportuneness of the attempt of the Independent Labour Party to promote municipal Socialism annoys the Progressive Party. Sir E. Cornwall, M.P., chairman of the London County Council, describes the attempt as nothing short of madness. The Liberal press ignores the hardness of the Labourites' municipal programme.
