Accounts amounting to £2B Is were recommended for payment. The Committee also recommended that the privileges for the next' Show be sold by Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., on February 2nd. The report was adopted. The Ground Committee recommended deferring the carrying out of alterations to the grandstand until after the next Show; that the I issuing of passes at the outside gates at Show time be discontinued. A discussion took place on the, latter recommendation. It was generally admitted that the amount taken at the gates did not in any way correspond to Ithe number of people on the 'grounds. ,Mr McGregor suggested a system that was in vogue at Home. He stated that people who passed out of the gates at the Shows at Home were branded with a small stamp on the back of the hand, and they were re-admitted to the grounds on showing the brand. On the motion of Mr McGregor, it was decided to give the branding system •a trial at the next Show. The Luncheon Committee recommended that the floor of the lean-to between the grandstands be either asphalted or concreted; that a bunker for" coal be erected in the corner of the - leanto; that two coppers with sink and plate rack be provided in the leanto; that in order to provide more light a window be provided near the range; that the iron shutters in front of the luncheon rooms in the old grandstand be removed and glass shutters substituted.
