ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
By Telegraph —Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 11. Just prior to the departure of the mail boat Sierra from Sydney a thief broke open the purser's safe, which contained three thousand sovereigns, but was disturbed, and decamped without the booty.
