FATAL EXPLOSION.

MANY PERSONS KILLED. Received January 11, 8.27 a.m. NEW YORK, January 10. An explosion of Riga furnaces is reported in Jones and Laughlin's steel works at Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Many persons were killed or injured. TERRIBLE FATE OF THE VICTIMS. OVERWHELMED BY MOLTEN METAL. Received January 11, 9.11 a.m. NEW YORK, January 10. The gas explosion at Jones and Laughlin's steel works at Pittsburg liberated streams of molten metal five feet deep. Out of 35 men only one Escaped unhurt by racing faster than the metal flowed. The rest were fatally injured or incinerated.
