AMERICAN SHIP SUBSIDY BILL.

Received January 11, 8.11 a.m. NEW YORK, January 10. The American Ship Subsidy Bill is regarded as dead, owing to dissensions in the House of Representatives. (The Bill referred to in the cablegram is the measure which the Oceanic Company has referred to in its negotiations with the New Zealand Government. If the Bill passed, it was said, the company would be in a position to considerably improve the San Francisco mail service.)
