MISS MARIE NARELLE.
Miss Marie Narelle will give a concert in the Town Hall on Friday, January 11th. Of a concert given in Melbourne, the Melbourne Punch says: —"A magnificent reception awaited Marie Narelle at the Town Hall on Saturday night, when the returned Australian singer commenced her 'star tour' of Australasia, under the management of Mr Frederic Shipman. The largest concert hall in the Commonwealth was completely filled by those who seized the first opportunity to do honour to a representative Australian who had succeeded 'on the other side,' and the wife of the Governor-General, by her presence, with a big Government House party, lifted, the splendid welcome above the level of a provincial demonstration of pleasure, pride, and patriotism. Miss Narelle was loaded with beautiful flowers after her first song, and the congratulations culminated in cheering." Tfiere was a record attendance at Miss Narelle's concert at Auckland. Over 200 people were turned away.
