LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN MEETING. By Telegraph —Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, January 5. The championship meeting promoted by the League of New Zealand Wheelmen drew a fairly large attendance of the public to Lancaster Park, this afternoon, when several champoionships of New Zealand came up for decision. The entries were good, and some interesting contests provided, although the strong easterly wind was anything but favourable for cycling The following are the principal results: — Grand Exhibition, Bracelet Handicap, half-mile, one-mile and one mile and a-half, aggregate points to count; first prize trophy (£25), sceond £5, third £3 3s, fourth £1. — Half-mile: J. Chalmers, 10 points, 1; J. Connelly, 8 points, 2; D. J. Byrne, 7 points, 3; H. E. Mehrtens, 4\ points, 4. ' One-mile Championship of New Zealand. —G. Sutherland 1; J. Arnst 2, B. Campion 3. Time, 2min 19sec. Half-mile Championship of New Zealand. G. Sutherland 1, J. Chalmers 2, I). Wyatt 3. Time, lmin 2sec. Three-mile Championship of New Zealand —G Sutherland 1, E. Burton 2, J Arnst 3.
