"THE LITTLE STRANGER."
To-morrow (Tuesday) theatregoers in Masterton will be given an opportunity of witnessing Messrs Meynell, Gunn, and Varna's new English Comedy Company, in "The Little Stranger," a farce which has everywhere been well received by all who enjoy a hearty laugh. The star of the company is Master Willie Parke, a child actor of eight summers, who has created a profound sensation wherever he has appeared. Speaking of his performance a Southern contemporary wrote: Willie Parke, who astonished a large audience by his all-round cleverness and evident appreciation of the humour of the various situations, notwithstanding his youth, the /management has a marvel. As well as being a very clever little actor, this boy must be endowed with abnormal intellectuality. He is indeed amusing, and the house roared at the juvenile fwho smokes cigarettes, orders dinners in the nursery, not forgetting the whisky and champagne, rattles foff slang, flirts with the nurse, and finally changes his frocks for miniature trousers. Master Parke scored every point available, and' he is in the limelight most of the time." The box plan is open at Miss Rive's.
