MASTERTON RACING CLUB.
MEETING OF STEWARDS. The monthly meeting of the Stewards of the Masterton Racing Club' was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present —Messrs C. A. Pownall (chairman), A. J. Welch, A. Reside, W. D. Watson, W. Cooper, D. Caselberg, J. Cress, R. Buick, W. J Piatt, W. loms, and C. H. Smith. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs C. P. Vallanee, A. G. Pilmer, and D. McLachlan. An application was received from the Masterton Ambulance Corps for a grant towards the cost of obtaining up-to-date ambulance appliances. The corps were prepared to render service at theTace meetings. It was decided to hold the application over for further information. The programme for the Autumn Meeting, as submitted by the Programme Committee, was adopted. , The Ground Committee's report was adopted, after the part relating to the proposal to purchase fifty sheep to eat the grass down on the course had been deleted. Three new members were elected. Accounts amounting to £8 were passed for payment.
