NIREAHA.

(From Our Own Correspondent)

Thursday.

During the New Year district has been fairly quiet. A number of residents are holidaymaking, some having gone to Christchurch to see the International Exhibition.

Last Sunday a very successful picnic was held up the Mangatainoka River-bed at Mr Larsen's. Visitors were present from all the surrounding districts. Miss I. H. Clark, of Paisley, Scotland, is at present on a visit to this district.

On Sunday evening last the Rev. V. H. Kitcat, Vicar of Eketahuna, conducted service in the Nireaha Church.

The local cheese factory is now putting through about 2,000 gallons of milk per day. The tests continue very satisfactory. The highest test is 4.3, and the lowest 3.5.
