PAHIATUA TENNIS TOURNAMENT.

(Special to the Age)

™ The third annual tournament of the Pahiatua Tennis Club commenced on Saturday last, and concluded on Tuesday. The weather was perfect, and the tournament passed of? most enjoyably. The various events were got off without the slightest hitch, and well within the stipulated time —a result which speaks well for those responsible for the management of the meeting. Afternoon tea waS provided each day by the lady members of the club, and wds greatly appreciated by the large number of competitors and spectators present on the - ground. The following are the final results:— Men's Championship Singles.— Ebbett (Hastings) beaf Adams (Palmerston North), 4- L 6, 6 —4, 6-3.

Ladies' Championship Singles.- ■ Mrs G. N. Goldie (Wellington) beat Miss R. Hughes (Pahiatua), 9 —5. Men's Championship Doubles. — Ebbett and Bunting (Masterton) beat Druee and Swainson (Pahiatua), 6 —3, 5 —6, 7 —5.

Men's-Handicap Singles(7o points). —Swainson, scr,beat Malcolm (Pahiatua), rec 25, 70 —63, and then won the final by default from Ebbett. Ladies' Handicap Singles (50 up). —Miss Graham, of Palmerston, rec 15, beat Miss Grant (Pahiatua) rec 12, by\so to 37. Men's Handicap Doubles (70 points). —Druce and Swainson, scr, beat Ebbett and Bunting, 70 —62. • Ladies' Handicap Doubles (50 points).—Misses Graham and Warren, rec 20, beat Misses Bolton, rec 25, by 50 to 44. Ladies' Championship Doubles. — Mrs Goldie and Mrs Westall beat Misses Page and Grant, 9—3.

Combined Handicap Doubles (50 points). Osborne-Lilly and Miss Graham, rec 15, beat Malcolm and Miss Inglis, rec 20, by 50 to 42.
