THE SOUDAN.
CONDITION OF PEOPLE VASTLY IMPROVED. CAIRO, December 31. Sir W. E. Garstin, Adviser to the Minister of Public Works in Egypt, after visiting the Soudan as far south as Rosaires, reports that the condition of the people is vastly improved. He predicts that the Sezira province, immediately south of Khartoum, when irrigated, will become one of the finest wheat countries in the world.
