WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
SPORTS AND CONCERT. The Wairarapa Caledonian Society will hold their annual sports On the Park Oval, to-morrow, and there is every prospect of a record gathering. The entries in the various events are numerous, and the sports should prove very interesting. Scottish dancing and music will 3be a feature of the gathering, while there will also be a' number of competitions in, treefelling, woodchopping, and sawing. Already the skirl of the bagpipes is to be heard, and the town is filling with visitors so that those responsible for the management of the meeting have every faith in its success.
Everything augurs well for the success of the concert in the evening, as there has already been a keen enquiry for tickets. Much attention has been devoted to the drawing up of this year's programme, and it should prove a popular one. Such first-class vocalists as Madame Marie Groome, Miss Lynn Mills, and Mr J. F. Carr will be heard, while among the local contributors to the evening's programme are Messrs S. J. Johnston, A. Nicol, W. Iggulden, T. Rodgers, R. Henry, W. Norman, Gordon Stewart, and Miss Elkins. '
