Also started —Kuklos. A straggling start. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 34sec. Dividend, £3 18s. Electric Handicap, 5 furlongs. — Cyrene 1, Fishermaid 2, Clipper 3. Also started Bagatelle, Eruption, Somali, and Bellevue. Cyrene led throughout. Time, lmin 3sec. Dividends, £2 2s and £1 18s. NEW PLYMOUTH HANDICAP, —— 1 mile. Pangaroa 1 Showman ~ 2 Climax 3 Also started Billow, Trevalli, Otaraoa. Won by half a length; a good race. Time, lmin 44£ see. Dividends, £5 8s and £2 10s. Second Hurdles.—Sammy 1, General Peel and Mooshen (dead heat) 2. Also started—Tonderghie. Won by six lengths. Time, 2min 54£ sec. dividend, £2 14s.
Summer Handicap, 6 furlongs.— Showman 1, Somali 2, Sedgemoor 3. Also started Silvershell, Tarina. Won under pressure by two lengths. Time, lmin 17 l-ssec. Dividend, £ll 14s.
Welter Handicap, 1 mile. —Southern Cross 1, Toddy 2, Pangaroa 3. Also started —Romany King, The Dane, Stayboy, Lady Sylvia, Die Hard. A capital race. Time, lmin 45sec. Dividends, £3 and £5 16s.
Second Scurry.—Pearlie 1, Cyrene 2, St. Maria 3. Also started —Eruption, Bagatelle, Sedgemoor, Petone Queen, St. Hiliers, Vivandel, Lady Lancelot. Pearlie led throughout from the best of the start. Time, lmin 4sec. Dividends, £2 4s and 18s.
Farewell Handicap. Southern Cross 1, Recreation 2, Kaimere 3. Also started—Tambour Major. Won by two lengths. Tinie, lmin 31sec. Dividend, £2 12s. The tofcairaator receipts for the two days amounted to £11,196, an crease of £1,208 on last, year's meeting. The double machine paid £137 14s on Pangaroa and Showman.
