MASTERTON DREDGING COMPANY.

Referring to the Masterton Dredging Company, the Otago Daily limes, in a' recent issue, remarks: - "The directors of the Masterton Company have declared a dividend of ss, payable on Monday. * This distribution will bring the total returned to shareholders up to £3 per share, the total returns being £15,000, or *hree times the capital of the company. The dredge won her first return on September 15th; 1904, and to the end of the year .paid 4s in dividends. In 1905, 22s was returned, and this year 31s has been distributed. fiOO of unexpended capital still remains on fixed deposit in the bauk as a reserve fund. Mr iiessey, ope of the directors, returned from a visit to the claim last evening, and he states that the good ground continues, and shareholders oan look foward to regular dividends, if all Rues well. Only about one-fifth of the claim has been worked up to the present." The Masteiton shareholders are to be congratulated upon the sucoess of their venture, and Mr Hessey is, no doub?, «£ell satisfied with the result of his enterprise. The Antonio Company, whioh has also been chiefly promoted in Masterton, is likey to start working about the middle of January. Shareholders in this company doubtless hope it will prove a second Masterton.
