MUNICIPAL FIRE BRIGADE.
The ordinary meeting of the Maeterton Mun.oipal Fire Brigade was hold last evening, Captain Jenkins presiding over a large attendance.
The secretary reported an average attendance of 18 for the mouth of September. Tbo Carterton Fire Brigade wrote applying for the use of a testing spanner. The application was granted. The Masterton Municipal Brass Band wrote soliciting tbe brigade's support for tbe sports to be held by the Band on January 17«;b. A committee, consisting of Seoretary Pragnell and Firemen Selby, Jackson and Fielding; wer3 appointed to assist the Band In connection with the sports. It was deoided to ask Fireman Jorgenson to reconsider his resignation.
The necessary alterations to the Na. -2 station were authorised to be prooeededjwith. Secretary Praanell and Firemen Gardner and Pickering were appointed to select the team to represent the\Erigade at the Exhibition Demonstration at Übriafcohurcb, the team to he choseu before January Bth.
It was decided to receive nominations for the position of delegate at tbe Fire Brigade'* Conference CbristcLurch up till tho next meeting of the Brigade. Obrietmas greetings were received from 28 1< ireßrlgndes in tbe colony.
One month's lea.-e of abs«noe was granted to Fireman A. K. Johnston.
