WEDDING.

DRAKE—TOMLIN. AtS. Matthew's Church yesterday, Miss M. F. Tomlin, eldest daughter of Mr E. Tomlin, of Masterton, was married to Mr W. J. Drake, of Masterton, and formerly of Gore. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a handsome white glossy silk dress trimmed with old English lace. She also wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids were Misses N. Jarman and E. King, while Misses Hazel Monk and Grace Watkins were the flower girls. t Mr B. Tomlin, brother of the bride, was best man, and Mr B. Scale was groomsman. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. M. Johnson. Q

After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, when the customary toasts were honoured and good wishes extended to the newly-wedded couple. Thelwedding-cake, a handsome threedecker, mounted with a bunch of orange blossoms and grape leaves, was made by Messrs Fisher and Sons, of Pine Street.

The bridegroom's present to the bride was a greenstone brooch, and to the bridesmaids a gold brooch each. The gift of the bride to ' the bridegroom was a pair of gold sleevelinks. The presents received by the newly-wedded couple were numerous and costly. Mr and Mrs Drake left by the evening train for the South. The bride's travelling dress was a dove-coloured costume, and she wore a black picture hat.
