WAIRARAPA GUN CLUB.

A meeting of members of the Wairaiapa Gun Club was held in the Glub Hotel last evening. Mr A. P. Whatman presided over a good attendance. A discussion took place on the question of holding sweepstake "shupts" in the open fields. The proposal was considered a good one. It was stated that several farmers had already deoided to allow members of the club on their property for the purposes of shooting small birds. It was deoided to hold the first "shoot" on January 17th, 1907,

On the mofciou of Mr E. Weloh, it was deoided to write to the various farmers within a three-iuile radius of the town asking for permißsiun to shoot in their fields. It was resolved that the shooting match should besheld between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6 p.ra.

Messia R. J. Kiine, R Weloh, J. W. Cochrane, E. fl. Waddington, T. Barvey and .1. Harvey jar, were appointed a committee to make arrangements for the raatob. 'l'he resignation of Mr J. Harvey, am 1 ., was accepted with regret. Mr Weloh undertook to take charge of the club's property, consisting of a pigeon bouse aDd a number of traps.
