CHRISTMAS PREPARATIONS AT THE W.F.C.A.

The preparations for the Christmas season at the Wairarapa farmers' Cooperative As9ooiation are now complete. For some time past the firm have been busily eugaged in the work, and the whole establishment presents a bright and attractive appearance, all Christmas lines being displayed in a most enticing and pleasing manner. Tha grocery and provision department is particularly attraotive, most of the goods having been specially imported by the firm. On a speoial stand there is a most comprehensive display of Harry Peck's noted potted meats. These are put up in neat glass bottles, and various lines include mock and real turtle soup, chicken broth, tomato and ox tail, ham andsegg paste, devilled cod roe, curried fowl. In American goods the name of "Heinz" stands out very prominently, there being nearly thirty varieties in Fronuh olives, euchred figs, stuffed olives, tomato ketahup, preserved fruit*, baked beans, and Hoinz mustard dressing. The latter article has |the reputation for being a delightful relish for salads* possessing a rich, spicy flavour. The stock of assorted crystallised fruits, including strawberries, apircots and cherries in separate and assorted lots, ia also very choice, while in desert fruits peaches, pears, pineapples, apricots and the finest Spanish muscatels (6 and 8 crown), the assortment would be hard to equal. The quality of Pasoall's confectionery is too well-known to need comment, all varieties being in strong evidence. In biscuits, the firm have shown considerable enterprise in importing heavy stooks, and this applies particularly to Peek Freau's delnlons #>laiu and fancy lines. There is, also, a French manufacture, "Biscuit Guillout," of which there are many choice lines ou view. The stock in the show window shows up to great advantage, ham!, confectionery and fruits baing on view, as well as tho W.F.C.A. 20s and 40s hampers.
