Y.M.C.A. PICNIC.
A meeting of the geDoral committee to make further arraugemeata for tbeJY.M.O.A. picnic, to be held on Boxing Day, was held last evening. There was a large attendance of members. The various subcommitees' reports on detail matters were considered satisfaotory. Tbe starters, handicappeis and other ofHoials for the day were appointed. Several promises of tro- f phies for the even's were received. The pionio promises to be a deoided success. A large number of entries have been received for the ladies' nail driving competition. The ladies are also evinoing a great deal of interest in the cricket matob, ladies v. gentlemen, in whioh tno latter will bat left hauded. The boating promises to be an attraotive feature of the day's sport. The newly formed anibulanoe corps intend to be on the grounds. The committee will meet again on Monday evening next.
