S. BRIDE'S CONVENT CONCERT.
A most successful rehearsal of | the programme to be submitted by the pupils of S. bride's Convent at tbuir annual entertainment on Wednesday evening nsxf, was held in tbe Town Hall last night. Every item went with cispness nnd precision, showing the careful training: that tbe pupils had received. The first part of tbe programme opens with the overture, "L'ltaliane in Algeri," on thr?e pianos, in which th» Misses Kiohards, Frost, and Grey are heard to advantage. In tbe next item, the Missaa Pros*, Holloway, Bowsted, Smytusen, MoKenna ani Henify give beautiful rendering of the Duet in 13. Miss Richards' interpretation of the piano solo, "Irish Diamonds," is full of feeling, and is a treat to hear. A vocal ohorns, "The Old Home Ain't What It Used To Be," by the pupils, and a duet, by Misses Elkius and Bennington were well rendered. But perhaps the item that will appeal most to the audience is tbe quartette, "Tbo* the Lust Glimpse of Erin," in which Miss Holloway plays an accompaniment on the harp. In the second pare of tbe programme, which is devoted to tbe production of the operetta, "Sherwood's Queen," all the yerformers took their parts well, while the oboruses were taken up with a vigour and precision which augurs well for the suacess of the eutertainment.
