WELLINGTON WOOL, AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs Levin and Company, Limited, report on their sale held on Friday as follows: —We offered a small catalogue of wool, 1700 skins, 180 hides and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. Wool—Only bag wool offered to-day. We quote: Coarse crossbred in bags, 9d to lOd: inferior and logstained, 6d to 6f d ; pieces and bellies, 4£d to ssd. Skins —Market steady at last sale rates. 'We quote —Merinos, 7£d to BJd; fine crossbred, 9d to 9£d; coarse crossbred, Bsd to 9d; dead skins, 6sd to 7£d; dead hoggets, 6|d to 7£d; " short wools, 6|d to 7£d ; lambs skins, 6£d to 7*d; woolly green skins, 6s 6d to 9s; green lambs skins, 2s to 2s 9d; green pelts, 2s to 2s lid. Tallow—Strong competition. Parcels in shipping order, £26 ss: tins, £lB to £2O; rough fat, £l7 9s. Horsehair—ls to Is 4d. Horns—7s to 20s per 100. Hides—The market declined £d to ■Jd. We quote: *Ox hides, extra heavy, 6f d to 7d; ox hides, 70lbs and over, 6*d to 6fd; ox hides, 501bs to 761bs, GJd to 6|d; cow hides, 6£d to6d; calf skins, best, 6£d to 7|d; calf skins, slippy, 3d to sd; calf skins, cut, 5d to and slippy hides, 4£d to ssd ; stag hides, 4|d to sd; bull hides, 3|d to 4id. The next sale will bo held on Friday, 21st December, 1906.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:—Sheep-skins Prices for good lines were firm at"'last sale rates. Inferior quality showed a slight advance. - We quote as follows -.—Good crossbred, B£d to 9|d; medium, 8d to Bid; dead, 6£d to 7*d; lambs, 6£d to 8d; damaged and broken, 6d to U& ; pelts, 2s to 2s to 2s lOd each ; "merino, 6|d to 7£d per lb. Hides—The market showed a decline of fully |d per lb. We quote: Heavy ox (none offering) ; light, 54lbs to 65lbs, 6Jrl to 6id; inferior, sfd>; cows, medium, 45lbs to 49lbs, 6d to 6gd; calf skins, s§d to 6Jd; cut and slippy, 5d to 5f d.

, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report : At our sale to-day we offered a fairsiz'd catalogue of sheep-skins, hides, and tallow. Buyers were in usual strength, and bidding was fairly brisk for sheep-skins. Dead skins advanced from £d to Ad per lb. Hides were lower by about £d per lb. We quote: Sheep-skins— Half-bred and fine crossbred, 9Jd to 9fd; coarse crossbred, B£d to 9d; dead skins, G|d to B|d ; broken, 4d to 6d; green skins, 8s to 8s 9d; lambs skins, 2s 2d to 2s 6d. Hides —Medium ox, to 6Jd; medium cow, ssd to 6d : slippy and cut, 4d to sd;"calf, sound, 6sd to 7d; calf, damaged, 2d to od. Tallow—Mixed, in casks, 25s 6d per cwt; mixed, in in tins, from 18s 3d to 23s per cwt.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report:—Wc catalogued 580 bales. Prices were about £d higher than rates ruling at the November sale; and for some lots slightly higher when taking into consideration 'the higher shipping freights now charged. The quality of the wool submitted did not compare favourably with that offered at last sale. The lower sorts of wool, such as bellies and pieces, made high prices. We secured' 12f d for a line of halfbred wool and lid for threequarter bred from the South Island. Taking everything into consideration we think growers should be very well satisfied with the prices received for their wool. Our leading sales were as follows :—HB over Ketu 18 bales halfbred at 12|d, 7 bales half bred log-stained ICM, 6 bales, three quarterbred aUld, 5 bales bellies at Bd, Williams 2 bales m-pssbred fine 10-fd, 3 bales at 10£ d, Eatanui over IJI2O bales at 10 : } d, AGK 34. bales at IOJd, JM over JH wheel 1G bales at 10id, Waiwiri 9 bales at IOAd, Waipuke 7 bales at 10£cl f WK over Longlea 9 bales at 10-Jd, KJC over Kara 8 bales at IOAd, Winecup over Tapui 10 bales HS over P 10 bales at 10£ d, 1 bale halfbred at md.
