A SALVAGE CASE.

The Chief Jastice had before him yesterday the case of the Aoiere Steamship Company against the owners of the barque Lutterworth, which was salved by the steamer Aorere some months ago when in a perilous plight near Cape Terawhiti. It will be rememberel that the ballast of the Lutterwortn shifted and disabled the vessel. The oren was rescued by one of the Unioo Company's vessels, and the barque, dismasted, and on her beam ends, was eventually pioked up by the Aorere and towed into port by the Aoiere and the tug Duoo. In consequence of this plaiutifFs claimed £6OO. Mr D. M. Findlay appeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr Gray for the defendants. Evirfeuco waa given as to the original value of the vessel, and the present value of the bull, gear, equipment and stores. Ihe oase will be ooutiuued to-mor-row.
