FATAL BOMB EXPLOSION.
PERILS OF THE POLICE,
(Pqr Sierra at Auckland). TIFLIS, November 11. A dep.feuing explosion occurred on Patbansk Street at an early hour this morning, while the police were searching an unoccupied house. The noise of tho explosiou was audible for a gieat distance, and the entire city nas ahokeu. Three policemen were killed hiid four wounded, The police discovered some revolutionary proclamations under u bed in one of the rooms iu this house. They then went to a window aud pulled aside a curtain. Then there was a flash of blue flame, followed immediately by an explosion the force of which was so great tnat the body of a sergeant, one of the men killod, was hurled over a neighbouring roof. The whole of the upper portion of the house fell in. It is apparent that the snare bad been arranged, and the police lured into the place. The police received a "tip" to search* this particular house, located in the Tartar quarter of the city, which has not been inhabited since the Tartar-Aruaeuiau massaores last year.
