MACMAHON DRAMATIC COMPANY.
The MaoMahon Dramatic Company will stage the Australian bushranging drama "A'he Kelly Gang," in the Town Hall, this eveninp. The r'ot is of a stirring nature, says the-New Zealand Times, and interest is never permitted to flag for a moment. Exciting inoidents follow each other in quick succession as the story of the reckless bushrangers' escapades is unfolded. The "stioking-np" of the mail coach is pioduoed with realistic effect. A ooaoh appears on the stage drawn by six white horses, and colour if* given to the surroundings by the exoelleut representation of the Australian bush. The presence of Ned Kelly at the bush races provides an oppor tunity for an exciting episode. The bush steeplechase act is realistically accomplished. Nemesis is unrelenting, and slowly and surely she weaves a net around the desperadoes. Hounded down they find themselves oaught iu a trap, and their last stand in the burning inn at Glenrowan is a thrillng finale to their career. A heavy fusilade from the police surrounding the inn negatives any attempt of the bushrangers to return the fire without risk of being riddled with bullets whilst the building , being slowly wrapped in flames, renders the positioti untenable. The vivid pourtrayal of the drama excited great enthusiasm, and the stage mountings, which were elaborate, were also replete in detail.
