MASTERTON LICENSING COMMITTEE.

QUARTERLY MEEIXNG

The quarterly meeting of the Masterfcon Licensing Committee was held yesterday morning. Thare were present—Mwssra W. P. James, S.M. (Chairman), E. McEsven, 0. E. I Paniell, and J. Heaaey. A transfer of the license of the Ranfurly Hotei, Eketahana, from L Adams to A. E. Jones was granted. The police lodged an objaotion againafc the Eketahuna Hotel on the ground that the fire esaapes had not yet been installed. Mr Page appeared for the licensee, and slated that the work was practically in hand. He added that a sale of the Hotel was anticipated. The JJenoh ordered the repairs to be effeoted at once. The polioe reported that the repairs ordered to be effeoted at the Whakatabi ljotel had not been carried out. Mr D. K. Logan, on bubalf of th& owner, undertook to havo all the necessary repairs effeoted before the* next annual meeting of the Committee.' The police lodged a report complaining of the conduct of thelioeasee of the Alfredton Hotel, and obiacting ho the manner in which he. Was conducting the hotel. Mr G. A'. Pownatl, who appearedi for the licensee,' stated that negotiations Wr thasale of tho hotel'ware* proceeding.
