ARBITRATION COURT.
AN IMPORTANT POINT
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON Deo. 4. At the Arbitration Court, to day, an important point was raise 1 in a case brought by the Shipmaster's Association against the Harbour Board. There were three classes of servants involved, namely, the harbourmaster, the pilot and the dredgemasters. Counsel for the Harbour Board submitted that the Court had no jurisdiotion on the grounds—(l) That the Shipmaster's Association was not a union of workers ander the Aot bunoe its registration was invalid; (2) that there is no dispute between the Board and Union of Workers; (3) that the Association is confined to shipmasters and can only refer to the Court a dispute relating to shipmasters or the shipping industry.
