BOROUGH PARK COMMITTEE.
A meeting cf the Borough Park Committee was held last evening. There were present:—Ors Ewingtou (chairman), Elliott, Temple and Hoar. A deputation from the Band attended the meeting with reference to tbe erection of tbe tea kiosk in the Park, and stated that tbe Band was generally satisfied with tbe plans of the building. They would pay £25 deposit, and the balance of the £SO when the building was ready for occupation. The Band was piepared to pay the money, provided they had every facility to use the building when tbe Council were not requiring it, and provided that if the Council ever required the Band to leave the building the Council suould provide another suitable building or refund the £SO. The committee approved of the provision?, and the Town Clerk was instructed to embody tbe arrangements between the Committee, on behalf of tbe Council, and the Band on the minutes. Tbe tenders received for tbe erection of tbe tea kiosK were:—W. S. Lett, £225; O. E. Daniell, £207. The latter tender was accepted. The Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club wrote asking tbat the in dividual fee for training on the Park be not levied, but tbat an amount, sny £1 Is, b8 obarged tbe C!ub for using the Park for training purposes. The oouomittee deoided that the individual training fee must be paid this year c but the question of an annuo! fee from tbe Association would be favourably considered next season, provided an earlier applioaton is made. It was further deoided not to allow any more training on the Park until the fess were paid. It was deoided to grant tbe use of the Oval for the cricket matob between tbe English oriokators arid Wairarapa in February, and 'ibat tbe obar*es for a Amission should be Is at the gates, Is extra to tbe grandstand, ladies and children free. "S The Committee decided to visit the south end of Masterton on Wednesday morning to see what steps oould be takeu to improve that portion of the town near the Knripuni Triangle. It was stated that the Committee hoped to obtain the liberal support of tbe residents at that end of the town in this important matter. The meeting was adjourned till Friday evening when arrangements are to be made in connection with the sports to be held on Boxing Day.
