NELSON. 'By Telegraph—Press Association. NELSON, November 28. The People's Day at the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show was favoured- with perfect; weather, and there was a very large attendance. The judges spoke highly of the hunters, hacks and harness horses. Everything passed off without a hitch. I'ARANAKI. NEW. PLYMOUTH, Nov. 28. The weather was very'flne for the opening day of the Taranaki Metropolitan Show to-day. The entries were numerous, showing 20 par cent, increase on any previous year. The championships Were awarded as follow:—Thoroughbred horse, Gilnookie; mare, Salter's Princess Ina. Draught mare" 1 , P. Bremer's Gleunie (unbeaten). Shorthorn bull, Luacombe's Duke of Devon; cow, Gibsou's Cambridge Rose. Hereforl bull, Sole's Crown Jewel. Polled Angus bull, Campbell's Duke of York; cow, same owner's Grand Duchess. Ayrshire bull, (a numerous entry), Brown Bros'. Beauty Prince; cow, Cornwall's Fancy 11. Jersey bull, Bell BFos 1 . Dr. William; cow, Cornwall's Madam Malaprop. Uolstein bull, Newton King's Sir de Ooe; cow, Mrs Street's American Pauline.

OTAGO. DUNEDIN, November 28. The Otago A. a:jd P. society's annual Summer Show was commenced today, when sheep, cutUe, pigs and some of the horses wore judgei. Tho weather was flue, though a slight ebowerfeU, and the atteadance was fair for'the first day. A feature of tho Sbotv ao far ia tbu fine display of sheop. Cattle and draught horses show a falling oflE innumbers, but the judges Consider the quality was nev3r better. In the cattle seotion the charnpionß were: Chamberlain; cow, Mitchell Bros. Polled Anguß bull Murruy Roberts and Co. Ayrshire bull and cow, W. Cowan. Jersey bull and oow, b\ Hellyer. Only • stallions in draughts and hackneys were judged. In pigs Charles Briao swept the board, his thirty entries taking twenty first and ten seoond prizes.
