POLITICAL.
AN IMPORTANT STATEMENT.
By Telegraph—Presß Association.
AUCKLAND, Novemher 27.
Hon. R. McNab, Minister for Lands, points out that, quite apart from any outoome of the Land Bill, another election may be necessary next year, owing tu the work of the Representation Commission. He saysanice constitutional question iB involved. The Government has an important duty in advising the Governor on tbe question as to whether the present Parliament should run its course. Three Southern, members will be representing no constituency, and the, Governor will have to say which of these members' seat will stand. If they do not retire, and three electorates in the north are olamooring for their representatives, a chaotic condition will ensue, and it is a question whether an election is not desirable before tbe re-as-semblmg of Parliament. Constitutional procedure, into which, be said, he had not gone, might require this to be, done.
STATEMENT BY TBE PREMIER.
