Received November 27, 12.3 a.m. CAPETOWN, Nov. 26. Colonel Crewe, Colonial Secretary for Cape Colony, speaking at Grahamatown, said that the Hetvolk's attempt to oust the Chinese from the Rand was due to a desire for office, but if it was proposed to deport Chinese and substitute Europeans the Hetvolk would resist it. He did not think tnat all possible had) been done to obtain more natives for wotfc iu the mines. The supply of these could be largely increased if Kaffirs were treated as well as Chinese.
