MEETING OP DIRECTORS,
A meeting nf the direotor& of the Wairarapa Caledonian Soaiety was held on Saturday afternoon. There were present—Messrs J. H. Pauling: (chairman), J. B. MoKenzie, J. 0. McKillop, P. Hill, G. MoHattie, A.. MoLeod, J. McHaltie, J. 0. Ewington, J. McLean, D. MoLaoblan, T. P. JUett, W. L. Falconer, E. H. , Waddington, J. MoKenzie and H. < Dagg. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs R. Gray, IV Wyeth, and W. D. Watson. Mr A. B. Charters wrote thanking the Society for appointing him bandioappar for the District Schools rooe at the forthcoming sports. A letter wad received from the Town Clerk stating tnat the Borough Council would charge the same rental as last year for the Park for thw sports meeting on condition that the Society arranged for the tarring and sanding of the cycling track on the Park. After a brief disoussion ns to the bes!; method of repairing the track, it was decided to leave ttoe matter in thebands of the Ground Committee with power to act. O'Leary. .The appointment of judges for musio and cianuiug was deferred for a week. > It . was decided that only those stewards and judges who are appointed tooonduofc an event uhould be allowed on the inside gronnd while that particalar event is going on. Mr Ewington, on behalf of the Borough Park Committee, placed before the directors the scheme for the erection of tearooms and lavatory in the Park, and asked whether the directors would be prepared to contribute an amount towards the erection of tie building. On the motion of Mr F. Bill, seconded by Mr Falconer, it was unanimously decided to contribute £lO towards the coat of the building if it were erected before the ne>t sports gathering, otherwise only £5 would be contributed.
