STOCK SALES.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their fortnightly stock sale held at Maaterton, yesterday, as follows:—We offered a good yarding of eattie and a fair yarding of sbeap. AH tho bin lots of cattle sold well under the hammer, there being a good gdemand for well grown tullookß. We would recommend futtber entries for this class of Btook, there being a growing demand on aooouufc of bettei* prices for beef still holding. We quote: —Ewes, and lambs £1 Is, fat ewes 19s Id, spring mg {"heifers £2 13s to £2 16s 6d, 3 and 4yr bullocks £5 10a, rising 3yr steers £4, 2yr steers £3 19a 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercautile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows on their Masterton stock sale held yesterday :--Sheep came forward in fair average numbers, all elates "ere represented, and tbe quality being mostly good, we had no difficulty in making sales at sound rates. In cattle we bad a heavy yarding—mostly good sale able sorts, and at the end of the sale very few remained unsold. Two Dens of nice quality cow and heifer beef sold readily under the hammer. The demand was mostly for grown steers. In pige, we submitted weanera, all selling freely at reoeht rates. Fat ewes and wethers made 21s, forward enpfcy ewes 15s 6d to 16s, ewes and lambs 20s 6d, shorn ewes and lambs, all oounted, 83; ewe hoggets 18s; beef heifers £5 18s, cows £5 15s, forward 'steers £5 ss, 2yr steers 55s to 725, lSmos 42s 6d empty heifers 61s; weaner pigs 12s to 15s. MASTERTON WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALES, Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report:—We hold our monthly sate cf wool, skins, hides and fallow yesterday,- offering 30 bales wool, 50 bags wool, 2.50U eheepßkinß, and 600 bides and calf ekine, and a quantity of tallow and horsehair and rabbit skins. There was a good attendance of buyers, and competition was strong for all lots. Several odd bales of new season's wool were offered and realised to lOd, showing an advance of 21 per Jb on the sale here in September. Skius also showed an advance of a penny per lb, arossbred selling up to and coarse crossbred at 9ri. There was a fair entry of bides, and all sold at full values, taking into consideration the poor condition of the bulk of the hides which come into this market. As bides iu future will be sold by weight, it will be necessary for growers to have their produce in store not later than Saturday prior to sale. We would also again draw attention of clients to tbe necessity of marking all produce plainly. We quote : Wool—Crossbred 9>£d to lOd, dead 7V£d to- 9d, orutohines sj4d to 6J^d ; pieces, and bellies s>£d to 7d, looks to sd. fine crossbred and halfbrod 9J£d to 9>£d, crossbred to 9d, deai 6d to 7d, dead bogget 6>£d to 7d, boggefcs 7d to 7%d; green skins 7s to 8s 3d. Hides—No heavies offering, Medium ox went to 27s 6u and cow to 24a, dead to 225, calfskins to ss. Tallow—Extreme prices ware obtained. Casks in shipping order sold to £25 5s per ton; in tins, 19a 3d; rough fat. 16s 9d. Horsehair—ls 7d per lb. Next sale will be held on January 3rd, 1907. , The Wairarapa Farmers' Gooperative Association, Ltd., in conjunction with Dalgety and Co;, held their monthly wool, skin and bide sale yesterday. They report as follows:—There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was very keen, good prioes being tbe result. Hides were very firm, and sold at top prioes. Wo must again remind clients of tbe importance of saving their bides well and using plenty of salt. As under we quote prices realised:— Wool—Fleece 8d to 9>£d, seedy ditto 8d to 9d, good dead 8d to 9d, lambs 8d to 9}£d, urutohing 5d to 63>£d, seedy ditto 4d to sd. Horse-hair cow-hair 9d, rabbit skins 8d to 9d. Skins, crossbred, 7d to 9%d, dead ditto 6d to B%d, broken 6d to dead, broken and seedy 6d to 6%d, dead and seedy 6d to 7d, short seedy 7d to 7%d, hoggets 6d to 7%d, lambs 6d 10 7J4d, green orotsbred damp 6s 6d to 7s 7d each; lambs' pelts Is 9d to 2s. Hides, heavy ox, butchers 30a to 34b, medium 23a :;o 28s 6d, oow ditto 24s 6d to 26s 6d; ox slippy 15a to 235; oow, slippy, 12s to 19b 6d; ox, light, 10s to 18s 6d; oow, light, 8s to 13a; ox, cut and Blippery, 13s 6d to 19s 6d; oow, out and slippery, 10s to 16s; yearlings, light, 3s to ss, calfskins 2a to 3s 3d. Our next sale will be held on January 3rd.
