FUNERAL OF COLONEL PITT.
SERVICE JN NELSON OATHEDRAL. By Telegraph—Presa Association. NELSON, November 21. Tbe funeral of the late Hon. A. Pitt, Attorney-General, took place hero today, and was largely attended. Tbe day Pas observed in the city aa a day of mourning, all business being suspended. • Tba procession (eft tbe Tutanekai at ''ll o'olook, tbe carriages forming a line half a mile in length. At the Cathedral the oolHn was carried in by members of the Permaaent Artillery. A shore and impressive service was held in the church, which was beautifully ["draped iu crepe, with masses of wreaths and arnm lilies on tbe altar, pulpit, reading desk, and communion table. Hymns 399 and 401 were sung, with tbe psalm xo., 1 Oor. xv. as lessons. The officiating clergymen were Bishop Mules and Rev. J.'Kempthorne. Tbe procession then left for the nemetery, where the remainder cf the service was carried out. The Minister present wore Sir Joseph Ward, and the Hon. Messrs MoGowan and MoNab, while there were numerous members of both Houses, and all publio bodies were represented.
