—• — ' . WORKS OOMMiriEE. "The ordinary meeting of the Masterton Borough Works Committee lastj evening, was presided over by the Deputy-Mayor (Or E. Feist). Cra T. G. Hoar, VV. Morris, J. 0. EwingtoD, E. G. Eton, E. McEwen and F. W. Temple were also present. An apology for absence was received from Cr J. H. Faulinsr. It was decided to oall tenders for the work of setting baok the fences in oonneotion with the widotiiug of York Street. The tender of Mr M. Kerins for formation work in Elizaleth Street, at£s 14s 6d per obain, was acoepted. Oa the motion of (Jr Hoar, the Engineer was instructed to report on the cost of improving the footpath at the south end of Dixon Street. The Engineer was instructed to arrange for the settiDg back of the fences in Michael Street. With regard to the widening of Bannister Srraet under the Betterment Bill, it was decided to oall on the property owners for the amounts flqe qn4 er the Bill, but no*; tg insist OH tlj Q plaiins made for half the cost of tha construction of the footpath,
