SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS.
The Camp meeting of the Seventh Day Adveutists was concluded yesterday. During the day two lectures were given, and both were largely attended, In the afternoon Dr Kress delivered a lecture on "Our Food and Drink, as related to Morals and Christianity. Ho introduced bis subject, referrng to the ancient (Greek athletes.- who, iu order to win earthly crowns, beoatna very temperate in their diet and did not partake ofc any stimulants. The Doctor condemned the use of stimulants, and compared their effect on a man's body to a whip on a tired horse. He aluo condemned the use of meat, aloohol and tobaoco as being the cause of irritability, headaches and nervousness, and other ailments. He advocated a floshless diet, such as nuts, grains, legumes and fruits. The speaker concluded by saying that the sooner men mended their ways and partook of a simpler diet, the better it would be for them. Pastor W, H. Hennig spoke in the evening on the "Eastern Question and what its solution means to the World." The speaker traced the fulfilments of the prophecies contained in the Scriptures with regard to the East. As prophesied in the Bible, be said, the Turks were beginning to ,move to Jerusalem, and when they hail shifted their tabernacle to that oity, the war described as the "Battle of the Great Day of the God Almighty" would commence. It would be a war in which all Powers would be united against Turkey in order to exterminate that Power. It was announced at last evening's meeting that a site had been eeoured in Hall Street, where reguiar meetings would be held, the first of whioh would take place on Sunday evening next:
