MASTERTON RIFLE VOLUNTEERS.

A parade of the Masterton Rides whs held, last evening, under Captain Charters, and Meats. Morton and Brightiug, thirty-«igbfc of all ranks being present. The Company was taken into the open air and exercised in ad vanned and rearguard and outpost work in view of the ppproaohing camp, which will begin on the 29ta mat. On the 30th of 'his month Colonel Webb, Aoting Commandant of the New Zealand Forces, will visit the oamp and inspect the corps. Last evening the Ambulanoe Squad of the Masterton Rifles decided to inaugurate a scheme for procuring a small ambulance carriage for use in case of accidents, etc., the carriage to be for the use of the public generally. In view of this it was decided to confer with other ambulance squads in the town, and (ry to arrange for a display of volunteer work, etc., tvtiile the Volunteers Corps is in oamn. The display will probably i be held on' Thursday, December 6th, and a small .charge will be ! made tor admission. The Volunteers wish those who are willing to ■ co-operate in the display or help the cause along in any way, to oomtnuuioate, as soon as possible, with Captain Charters or Sergeant, AysoD, seciotary of tho oorps. The idea at present is to obtain sufficient money to provide n small rubbertyred vehicle, which could be len in a suitable spot; for use at any time. Should assistance be forthcoming, tbe Volunteers are willing to do everything in their power to secure tbe desired result.
