apparently satisfactorily SETTLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, November 1. The tramway difficulty is apparently satisfactorily settled. The oars ara running as usual. The employees ore jubilant over what they regard as a complete victory. It is understood that Mr Hansen has no intention of bringing tbe matter under the notlae of the Arbitration Court, having stated definitely at the conference with the men that the trouble was over so far as he was concerned, and that he would let the matter drop. In reply to a telegram sent by Mr Rosser, the union secretary, the Piemier telegraphed:—"Your telegram re Tram Company putting on unlicensed men, etc., to hand. Have referred matter to the Labour Department. Matter is to be specially watched in the interests aud safety of the travelling public. No Inexperienced men should be al lowed to undertake suoh duties." This morning Mr Rosaer telegraphed to Sir Joseph Ward:—■ "Tramway strike ended satisfactorily to the men. All points conceded by the company. Thanks for your wire of assurance."'
