We are in receipt of a copy of the ' Cape Argus, in which the following correspondence ia published:— NEW ZEALAND CONTINGENTS. (To the Editor of the Cape Argus;. Sir,—-On behalf of self and other members of the late 4th and Bth New Zealand Contingents, I should be greatly indebted if you would kindly publish the enclosed, as it is only through the medium of your widely oirculated paner our appeal can be known. —I am, etc., H. Members of tho lata 4th and Bth New Zealand Contingents residing in South Africa will ldarn with deep and sincere regret of the death of their respected captain, which sad event happened on August 11th, after a short illness, at Masterton, New Zealand. It has been decided by the nfembßra of those corps re Biding in New Zealand to ereot some suitable memorial to one ! whose memory we nil wish to cherish. There being many members of the 4th and Bth in this country, who no doubt would like tu subscribe to so oh memorial I shall be pleased to receive any subscriptions (address Bank of Attica, Litd,, St. George's street, Cape Town), and forward saoje to New Zealand.
