PAHIAIUA STOCK SALE,
Messrs Dalgety and Co., held their fortnightly sale at the Pahiatua yards on Tuesday, when there was a good entry of cattle, bat only three lines of sheep c&me for ward. There was a good attendance of buyers, and a complete clearance was effected. Cattle were chiefly oonflned to young stock, nearly two hundred head of these coming forward. Shorn 4 and 6-tooth wethers sold at 14a 7d, small shorn hoggets 9s 9d, aged store ewes 7a 6d, fat cows 765, 18-months and 2-year steers 38s to 48s, store cows 26s to 48s, empty heifers (2 yeara) 37b, mixed yearlings 26a to 30a, mixed weaners 15s. Competition wBB very keen. Bradford and Ametioan fcayera were present in full Btrength, but Continental were not much in evidence. Neatly the whole quantity was sold. The prices of good wools generally advanced a farthing and upwards.
