SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS.

ADDRESS BY PaSTOR HENNIG. At the camp meeting of the Seventh Day Adventists, last evening, Pastor Hennig delivered an interesting address on "The Union of the Church and State, and Its Relation to Religious Liberty." The speaker, in tho cours« of his address, said that the basis of bis remarks w uld be found in Isiah 61-1. From this it was.shown that Jesus Christ is the author of Liberty. The Liberty which tie gave enabled man to do the right thing. Sgitan was the author of bondage. Although be gave a bind of Jtaense, that very license bound the victim tighter with the cords of sin. The Third Angel's Message, as taught by the Seventh Day Adventists from the Bible, proclaimed liberty to all men. It was their deuire and plan to acquaint everyone with this freedom and liberty as i found in Christ Jesus. Eaah individual must choose whether or not he will acoept this freedom or \ remain in bondage. Every man who Jived up to tho righteous principles as contained in God's Word was indeed a happy man. Just as Boon as a man praotised any sinful indulgence he was as verily in bondage aa tho coloured men were in the Southern States of North Arnarioa. "As our name implies," said the speaker, "we keep the Sabbath (Saturday). The question often arises, how can this day be kept? This, the Sabbath questtion, is one of the fundamental /truths of the Bible, and true liberty is only found in obedience to God's precepts and laws. Thiß genuine liberty gives a nobility of character that oanuot be otherwise obtained. Tbe truth of God so graciously given us contains tho only plan by which eaob individual may obtain this freedom and liberty. No man has any rlgbt whatever to dictate to another in religious matters. Everyone must decide for right of his own free will." ''Under no consideration,"concluded the speaker,"should tbe union of Church and State be tolerated, but tney should be kept as distant as the east is from the west."
