FERREIRA BELIEVED TO EE AN ADVENTURER. LORD MILNER'S OPINION. . Received November 13, 6.44 a.m. CAPETOWN, November 12. Some persons believe that Ferreira is an adventurer, who, towards the dose uf the Kruger regime, removed the purs of a great mining property Id Johannesburg. Lord Milner, interviweed on the subject of Ferriera's raid, suld it wns a mere polioe matter, and it was very unlikely that troops would be required. The Daily Mail states'lhat Ferreira expects*two°parti<3B of freebooters to cross the German frontier and join him. Moritz, leader of the Boers in the employ of the Germans, with n view of persuading Transvaal adventurers to enlist as transport drivers, promised tbe in in 1904 or 1905 that their ultimate return to tbe Transvaal would be via the British border as invaders. A considerable number of armed natives accompany Ferriera. GERMAN GOVERNOR ASKED TO CAPTURE THE RAIDERS. Received November 13, 11.30 p.m. LONDON, November 13. In the House of Commons, Mr W. ChnrohilJ, replying to Mr Balfour, said that the Governor of German Soath-West Africa had been asked to capture the freebooters if they return thither. - Mr Dalzlel inquired if any information bad been received showing that the so-oalled raid bad been engineered from Johannesburg in order to divert attention from the Chinese labour question. (Loud Opposition laughter). SEVERAL OF THE RAIDER 3 WANTED. TWO TROOPERS SUCCUMB. Received November 14, 32.5 a.m. CAPETOWN, November 13. Ferreira was headed off at Uping* too and driven eastwards. A German desperado, named Jensen, who is Ferreira's lieutenant, an 3 several of his followers are wanted by the German authorities. |fTroopers Cooler and Bellew, who were wounded during the raid on the polioe camp at Abeah have succumbed.
