SUMMER MEETING.
The Summer Meeting of the Wal- j xarapa Racing Club will be held on the Tauherenikau Racecourse on Tuesday and Wednesday, January Ist and 2nd next, for which the Stewards present a very liberal programme of sixteen events, the total value of the stakes amounting to 2,o9Usove, 1,120 sovs being alloted to the fliat day's events, and 970 bovs to the 6eoond day's eveuts. The primipal events of the meeting are the Wairarapa Cup of 350 sovs, run on the v first day, and Racing Club Handicap of 225 sovs, which will be decided on the seoond day. The other races are liberally treated, and io no evont is the stake less than 100 sovs. With their usual foresight, and with a view to popularising their meetiugs, the Stewards have further improved the course and ap poiutments in a manner Miat should be fully appreciated by borseowners and the public generally. In the programme, which is published on page one uf this issue, it will bo seen that nominations for all events will close with the secretary (Mr E.
