Eight hundred and sixty casks were offered, and all were sold at Is 6d to 2a per cwfc. advance, owing to a shortage of tallow among soap makers, and the struggle by tiio Comoino against outsido manufacturers. Fine mutton 38s per cwt., medium 355; beef, line 3Cis, medium 355. FROZEN MEAT MARKET. NaPIER, November 1. Following report and quotations are cabled to-day from London: Thero is a general improvement in prices. Stocks aro light and held in few hands. Quotations: Canterbury mutton 4Ad, Nupicr, Wellington and North Island 4^l; lamb, first sjd, second Did ; beef, hinds 4d, fores 3d.
