WORKERS' MUTUAL BUILDING SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Workers' Mutual Benefit Building Snoiety was held at the Y.M.O.A. Rooms, last evening. Mr R. Krahagen, chairman nf directors, presided, and there was a large attendance of shareholders. The annual repoit and balancesheet were read by the secretary. The chairman moved the adoption of the balance-sheet and report. He said that the shareholders could not tut "feel highly satisfied at the progress that the Sooiety had made during the past year. The profit and loss account sbowed a credit balanoe of £853, whioh meant that every shareholder has made nearly £2 profit on each share held by him. | Mr J. O. Ewington, in seconding the motion, also referred to the prosperity of the Sooiety. The motion was carried. Messrs J. Candy, T. Cres&well and «J. Prentice, the retiring directors, were re-elected. Mr Andrew Nicol was re-elected auditor for the ensuing year. The meeting then '.proceeded with the appropriation n f the sum of £3OO, free of interest. Messrs A. Gardner and «J. Candy were appointed scrutineers, and Mrs Marley drew the numbers. Mr G. Hyde was declared the winner of the £3OO.
