A CHILD DROWNED.
By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, October 31. A little girl, aged two years, daughter of a- coach driver, nacced Joseph Burton, -was accidentally drowned at Petaue to day. The mother was engaged in washing near a small ureelr, and the little one was playine close by. Suddenly Mrs Burton ixii9sed the child, and in searching found her in the creek some little distance away, but though every effort was made to restore animation life was found to be extinct.
