SELF-DENIAL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WESTPOKT, October'2s. The looal effort in aid of the Salvation Army's self-denial fond bas realised £l6l, as compared with £9l last year. The target set for the local branch was £lO5, which has been exceeded by £56. The previous best looal effort was £93 raised in 1900, when a special appeal was made. The excellent issue is attributed to the enthusiasm thrown into the work by Ensign and Mrs Sharpe, who are in charge of the looal branch.
